Tooth extraction in Sharjah, wisdom teeth included
We will always tell you first whether the tooth can be saved.
Removing a tooth is the last option, not the quick one. Where a filling, crown or root canal can rescue it, we will say so and show you why — even though that is more work for us.
When a tooth truly cannot be kept, the extraction itself is quick and done under local anaesthetic. You should feel pressure, not pain.
You go home with clear written aftercare and our WhatsApp number. If something does not feel right that evening, message us.
When you need it
- The tooth is broken down too far to rebuild
- Decay has reached the root and the tooth cannot be saved
- Severe gum disease has loosened the tooth
- A baby tooth is refusing to come out
- An infection keeps returning to the same tooth despite treatment
- A wisdom tooth is swollen, trapping food, or pushing against the tooth in front
What happens at the appointment
We check whether it really has to come out
This is the part most clinics skip. Extraction is faster and simpler for us than saving a tooth — which is exactly why we will tell you if a root canal and a crown would keep it.
Complete numbing
Local anaesthetic, and we test it before we begin. You should feel pressure and movement, never sharpness.
The extraction itself
The tooth is loosened in its socket and lifted out. Most simple extractions take a few minutes once you are numb.
Settling the socket
Gauze, firm pressure, and clear written instructions for the next twenty-four hours — which is the window that decides whether healing is uneventful.
Afterwards
Bite firmly on the gauze for an hour and do not keep checking it. No rinsing, no spitting, no straws and no smoking for twenty-four hours — all of these dislodge the clot that is doing the healing.
Eat on the other side, keep to soft food for a day, and take painkillers before the anaesthetic wears off rather than after.
Some ache and swelling for two or three days is normal. Pain that gets worse from day three onward is not — message us.
Worth knowing
Wisdom teeth are extractions too
There is no separate wisdom tooth price here, because a wisdom tooth is a tooth. One that has come through normally is priced like any other extraction. An impacted or surgical case takes longer and costs more, and we give you that number after the X-ray and before we begin — never afterwards.
Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out. One that is through straight, biting against the tooth above it and cleanable should be left alone, and we will say so. The ones worth removing are those causing repeated infection, decaying because a brush cannot reach them, or pressing into the tooth in front. And if yours is genuinely difficult, we will send you to an oral surgeon rather than start something and stop halfway.
What to do about the gap
A back tooth gap is not only cosmetic. The teeth either side lean into it and the tooth above drifts down, which changes your bite over the years. We fit bridges and dentures and will talk you through both, with prices, before you decide. We do not place implants — if that is the right answer for you we will say so and point you to someone who does.
Common questions
Will it hurt?
The area is fully numbed. You will feel pressure and movement, not pain.
How long is the recovery?
Most people are comfortable within two to three days. We will tell you what to eat and what to avoid.
Can I go back to work after?
Usually yes, though take it easy for the rest of the day.
Does it hurt?
The extraction itself should not — you will feel pressure, not pain. The soreness afterwards is manageable with ordinary painkillers.
How long until it heals?
The gum closes over in one to two weeks. The bone underneath fills in over a few months.
Can I go back to work afterwards?
For a simple extraction, usually yes. Take the rest of the day if it was a difficult one.
Do you remove wisdom teeth?
Yes, and they are priced as extractions rather than as a separate treatment. We X-ray first, because the shape of the roots and how close they sit to the nerve decides both the approach and the price.
Do all wisdom teeth need removing?
No. Only ones that are impacted, decaying, or causing repeated pain or infection. A healthy wisdom tooth you can keep clean should be left where it is.
Not sure what you need?
Just ask.
Message us on WhatsApp with what is bothering you. We will tell you what it is likely to be and what it will cost — before you come in.
