Dental crowns in Sharjah
A tooth that looks like your own, and holds together under everything you chew.
A crown covers a tooth completely. It is what you need when there is too little tooth left to hold a filling, when a tooth has cracked, or after a root canal on a back tooth that would otherwise fracture under chewing.
We shade-match to the teeth beside it, so it does not announce itself when you smile or laugh.
It is a restoration meant to last years, not months — which is why the fit and the bite matter more than the speed.
When you need it
- A large old filling that keeps chipping or leaking
- A cracked tooth, or one that hurts when you release a bite
- A tooth that has had root canal treatment
- A tooth so broken down there is not enough left to fill
- A discoloured or badly shaped front tooth
What happens at the appointment
Shaping the tooth
Under local anaesthetic the tooth is reduced enough to make room for the crown. We take away as little as the job allows.
Impression and shade
An impression of the prepared tooth and the shade matched against your neighbouring teeth in natural light, not under the surgery lamp.
A temporary crown
You leave with a temporary crown so the tooth is protected and you are not walking around with a gap while the permanent one is made.
Fitting
The permanent crown is tried in, checked for fit, bite and shade, adjusted if anything is off, and then cemented. If it is not right, it goes back — we do not cement a crown you are unhappy with.
Afterwards
The gum around a new crown can be tender for a few days after being handled. That settles.
Floss around the crown as you would a natural tooth. Decay does not start on the crown, it starts on the tooth underneath at the margin, and that margin needs cleaning.
Worth knowing
Crown or bridge
A crown covers one damaged tooth. A bridge replaces a missing tooth by anchoring to the teeth either side of the gap. We do both. Which one you need depends on whether the tooth is still there, and we will show you on the X-ray rather than just telling you.
What the price covers
The cost varies with the material, and that is the main thing worth understanding before you choose. Metal-ceramic is the most economical and perfectly good on a back tooth. Full-ceramic and zirconia cost more and look better, which matters most at the front where people can see it. We lay out the options with the cost of each and let you choose. There is no wrong answer here, only a trade-off between money and appearance.
Common questions
How long does a crown last?
With good cleaning, many years. Gum health around the crown matters as much as the crown itself.
Will it match my other teeth?
Yes — we match the shade before it is made.
How many visits?
Usually two: one to prepare and take the impression, one to fit.
Not sure what you need?
Just ask.
Message us on WhatsApp with what is bothering you. We will tell you what it is likely to be and what it will cost — before you come in.
